Shane's background is in Health Education. With degrees in Physical Education, Dance & Drama she has been a University Lecturer, High School teacher & has held many leading positions in the Fitness Industry. Her design experience has come from many years as a dance choreographer both here & overseas.
Shane created Rapt~Ya to supply the missing link in the sun safe message..... We all know that tanning is skin in trauma and we should cover up ....but we won't if it means compromising on style & comfort. Her solution: make sun protection a fashion statement!
Shane swims or surfs just about every day of the year & always has. She also spends countless hours on the beach or outdoors with her husband & three children.
She knew the implications of this lifestyle on her skin & searched in vain for a practical garment that looked & felt good too. There were some mannish style garments available & some with surf brands displayed accross the chest but nothing truly flattering or comfortable & definitely nothing sexy!
Finally, she decided to do it herself & Rapt~Ya was born! The design concept was to include a level of comfort & style that enabled Rapt~Ya to be worn in the water & also as a fashionable top...swimwear to daywear to eveningwear in one versatile garment!
Sourcing the best of everything, Shane uses exquisite quality Italian lycra that breathes. The patterns had to be just perfect so she collaborated with a designer who has 25 years in the fashion industry working with top Australian fashion houses such as Collette Dinnigan, Sass & Bide, Willow and Camilla & Marc.
The garments are made in Sydney, Australia.
